Warren introduces bill revoking Medals of Honor for Wounded Knee Massacre

Elizabeth Warren introduced a bill Wednesday that would posthumously revoke 20 Medals of Honor awarded to US soldiers who slaughtered hundreds of Native Americans at the Wounded Knee Massacre of 1890.’The horrifying acts of violence against hundreds of Lakota men, women and children at Wounded Knee should be condemned, not celebrated with Medals of Honor,’ Warren said in a statement.

Seems like she should be sponsoring legislation to get clean water to American Indians that need it, rather than this token gesture to say "sorry" about a hundred years too late.

Why waste stupid time on empty virtue signaling stunts like this? Does she not have anything of substance to contribute to the problems of modern society? Is she incapable of finding anything better?

Let's revise history, because that means it never happened. As others have said this is a political stunt which does nothing to benefit those living today.

Could you maybe, just maybe draft a bill that will have relevance to the people of today. I mean nice virtue signals, but what about jobs, the economy, healthcare and education?

I am Native and so are my children. I want history preserved the good and the bad. How do we learn from our past if we keep rewriting it to suit our modern PC ideals? Ridiculous.

When National Socialism came to Germany it was seen as the progressive thing to do. When National Socialism get elected in America we will revoke medals from our greatest generation. This old hack wont live long enough to see the damage she is sewing.

Sorry I don’t approve of the retroactive application of the law. The law should only move forward. It is slippery slope declaring past actions “illegal” or “different in moral consideration” under the law

You must be joking... Well at least we are not putting efforts into curbing addiction and suicide in native communities. THAT'd be a waste of Time! 🙄

Typical, spend so much time making meaningless gestures instead of actually helping people who are struggling. Modern Democratic Party in a nutshell

1. This should have been done long ago under a military initiative and review to comply and promote ethical standards of behavior during a time of war, past, present, and god save us future. This should never have to require an act of Congress the military honor should demand internal review of such things and presidential approval 2. This was a stupid political move by Warren. While it may be the right thing to do, and at any other time earn her some points to do it now is just to blatantly a political campaign move stripping it of carrying an honor or nobility and the public won’t like that at all. Really really dumb move at this time.
