AOC targets Pete Buttigieg, defends tuition free public college

Criticizing Pete Buttigieg’s comments which allegedly took aim at proposals for tuition free public college, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said that this is a GOP talking point, and it was ’sad’ to see a Democrat candidate adopt it. Senator Bernie Sanders had earlier endorsed a plan to cancel nearly $1.6 trillion in student debt.

When observable reality is a "Republican talking point" I think you've gone too far.

What I love most about this presidential race is how torn apart the Dems are becoming.

So, rather than having those who can afford the service pay for the service, AOC would rather everyone's money pass through her hands so everyone can suffer through a public system that is hit or miss on results, and no option to pull your kid out and put them in a private school if they could afford it.

None of these elebenty candidates' "plans" actually address the underlying cause for the rise in tuition and therefore will only result in making things worse. For starters: 1: Stop federal and state funding of anything not STEM related at these universities and colleges. No professor, assistant, teacher, coach, trainer, etc should be receiving tax payer monies if it's not a STEM field. 2: Stop providing federal and/or state loans for non-STEM degrees and studies. Why should tax payers provide an expensive education in a field with no demand? 3: Stop giving federal and state funding to universities and colleges that do not encourage and protect 1st Amendment speech and association rights. Why would tax payers provide their monies to such toxic anti-American institutions? Other activities could be done to, to help drive down costs but these would have a huge and lasting impact.

Buttigeg will be the Democratic nominee. He is adopting the centrist positions necessary for the general and he gits all the 'intersectionality' talking points needed to keep the fnot quite ar left onboard (gay, Christian). It's not like Bernie or AOC supporters are gonna vote Trump instead, so they need to just be ignored.

Pete is a disgusting human being and is also incredibly racist. AOC is representing the ones who elected her.

Almost as funny when Obama was recently called conservative by other Democrats.

The title needs to say "tuition costs." Tuition means learning, so tuition-free college is something you get when partying too much or getting a degree in the social studies.

Pete Buttigieg Free Public College plan, doesn’t cover any person who makes over 100,000 a year. I’m sorry, but a household of that income can’t afford 30,000 a year. I believe in equal opportunity for every person, that means no matter how much your parents make you have the same opportunity to a education!

give it up to the two-party system - when you're both swimming in big money, the blame game is only appropriate. such a great slogan - "we won't do anything to help you, so vote for us".
