Chicago officer under investigation for body-slamming man to the ground

A Chicago police officer is under investigation after he was seen in a video body-slamming a man to the ground during an arrest Thursday. The video depicts an officer pushing a man up against a car before lifting him and throwing him down, where the man’s head smacks against the pavement. According to police, the 29-year-old drinking an alcoholic beverage became ’irate’ when they approached him.

Articles do not have sufficient information to know whether the person initiated aggression or not. But spitting is totally assault, and for that alone the guy deserved arrest and charges.

Initiated or not, that's excessive force. That can at least get him fired.
