21 dead in Mexico cartel attack near Texas border

Armed gunmen stormed the town of Villa Union in Coahuila state in northern Mexico Saturday and attacked government offices. Security forces responded, and 10 gunmen and four policemen were killed during the resulting shootout. Seven cartel members were killed by the forces after the attackers fled. The motive of the attack is unclear. The town is about an hour’s drive from Eagle Pass, Texas.
