US panel eyes sanctions for Indian Home Minister over Citizenship Bill

The US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) has urged the US to weigh sanctions against India’s Home Minister Amit Shah for proposing a Citizenship Bill which would exclude Muslim refugees from availing citizenship in the south-Asian country. New Delhi has responded by saying that USCIRF is guided by ’prejudices and biases’.
