Facebook rebuffs William Barr on encrypted messages

Facebook has rebuffed efforts by US Attorney General Barr to give authorities a way to read encrypted messages. Personnel from the platform said the company is moving ahead with plans to enable end-to-end encryption on all of its messaging services. This would lock up messages so that not even Facebook can read their contents.

Requests like this have only one purpose. Spying on the citizenry to subvert the Constitution. We need most of the Patriot Act to be repealed. Abuses far outweigh the benefits to countering the provisions of the Constitution that make America what it is supposed to be: A bastion of individual freedoms from an overreaching Big Brother government.
