Suu Kyi begins court defense of Myanmar against genocide allegations

Myanmar’s leader Aung San Suu Kyi is appearing at the UN International Court of Justice to defend her country against accusations of the genocide of Rohingya. She will address the court on Wednesday. Suu Kyi is expected to argue that the military operations in 2017 were a legitimate response to attacks by Rohingya militants. More than 700,000 Rohingya fled to Bangladesh during the campaign.
