An outdoor performance of ’Les Miserables’ has many in Hong Kong in tears.
This is happening during the current run of protests in Hong Kong that have gone on since March.
And TIME magazine choosing a pestering Greta Thunberg as person of the year instead of the people of Hong Kong for fighting for their freedom.
I would say a similar predicament if they don't get support
I get the feeling the Hong Kong protests are going to end much the same was as the protest in Les Miserables did. My heart goes out to Hong Kong but short of China giving the island more autonomy I just can't see the situation ending well.
The Hong Kong situation has me in tears. On one hand, helping them is in every way the right and moral thing to do. On the other hand, it will definitely spark a war with China, and China has nukes... we can't do anything but watch, increase tariffs on China, and hope for the best...
One thing I don't understand is why is time magazine's front page the one that was linked?
