Scottish National Party gains in election, calls for independence referendum

The Scottish National Party (SNP) has won in 47 of the 59 Scottish parliamentary districts in the UK’s election. Scottish First Minister and leader of the SNP has called for a new referendum on Scottish independence. A referendum for Scottish independence was narrowly defeated in 2014 but that was before the Brexit vote that was unpopular in Scotland.

when will people learn you don't get a second "once in a lifetime" referendum just because you don't like the result of the first one.

Ugh... Scotland you've been sold a bill of goods. Without the moderating influence of the English conservative vote Scotland is going to start resembling France and Spain rather than the UK. Overregulation, onerous taxes, restricted liberties, etc. Adam Smith will roll in his grave.

It's going to happen. The monarchy of yesteryear held Britain together. The revolution of the monarchy and the evolution of the current parliamentary system has left Britain without a strong ruler. Scotland will benefit immensely from getting its independence back. England will lose tax revenue and natural resources. Wales will be next.
