Lawmakers, veterans shocked by revelations over Afghan war

After a Washington Post report on Monday unveiled a report detailing how officials knowingly misled the public about the war in Afghanistan, US lawmakers, veterans and experts have expressed shock and resignation. Sen. Blumenthal has called for public hearings with Defense Secretary Mark Esper and other officials. More than 2,400 US soldiers died in the war which has cost over $2 trillion.

But what are they doing. A lot of fingure pointing and "It wasn't me." They aren't going to do anything. We fought the war for US interests and that should have been what we said. We shouldn't have used the same strategy of defeat and supplant we did in Europe and Asia because this isn't. We also should have gone to war with a nation or people not an idea. Can't beat ideas but you can beat the people who believe in them. There was a lot wrong in Afghanistan.
