Boeing to halt production of crisis-hit 737 MAX in January

Boeing is temporarily halting production of its grounded 737 Max after the Federal Aviation Administration said it would not approve the plane’s return to service before 2020. Production of the jet had continued despite the model being grounded for nine months after two deadly crashes. Boeing, which builds the 737 in Seattle, said it will not lay off any employees during the production freeze.

My guess is that the MAXes already built will not be flying again- at least not without heavy retrofitting into a different model.
