India protests against citizenship law, students condemn police

The students of the two minority universities in India have condemned the police and their ’barbaric’ treatment. During the weekend, both Jamia University and Aligarh Muslim University were demonstrating against the citizenship law, when police personnel barged in and attacked the students with batons and tear gas. Students have also alleged the usage of gun fire.

"The Bill amends the Citizenship Act of 1955 to give eligibility for Indian citizenship to illegal migrants who are Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan, and who entered India on or before 31 December 2014. The bill does not include Muslims." - Wikipedia Ah, so it's like Poland taking in a bunch of Ukrainians because of their kinship, and then rejecting muslims because they are incompatible with their ideal nation state. It does not surprise me that a muslim university is included in the demonstrations. Dar-al-islam forever expands through war.
