UK telecom regulator proposes locked-handset ban

UK telecom regulator Ofcom has announced plans to ban the sale of locked mobile phones. This is being done to make it easier for consumers to switch between mobile phone networks. As per Ofcom, BT/EE, Tesco Mobile and Vodafone are among providers that sell mobiles that cannot be used with alternative operators without being ’unlocked’.
