Is the research going to be A) trying to prove an existing bias B) buried when it gives the "wrong" results

Well this is another waste of time. We already have amazingly accurate statistics on this subject and it's not even close enough to really have a debate. Guns overwhelmingly save lives. I guess it would be nice if they would get away from survey data, but this doesn't suggest they have an alternative method of data collection. I guess if nothing else at least it will give me some more recent studies to cite while destroying the authoritarians arguments on why they should be able to decide which people should have access to their rights.

Ah yes, investigating gun violence. This might make them address the fact that most gun death statistics site MALE SUICIDES. Are we going to address that, or just fear monger for guns? The latter? Okay defund this "research."

...Why? I have the ’right’ to my guns whether it’s better for everyone or not. Do people not know what ‘rights’ are anymore?

The question of the day is who at the CDC and NIH will be managing it and will they be biased?

I think this is great if they make the data and methodology available. I would love to see statistics on use in self defence and use of long guns in crimes. I doubt anti-gun folks are gonna be as happy as I will be though.
