New Star Wars movie opening to weak reviews

Most reviewers have panned the latest Star Wars movie which opens nationwide on Friday. The score, acting and visuals are praised but the plot is generally getting bad reviews. It has a 57% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Disney purchased the Star Wars franchise from Lucasfilm in 2012 and rewrote some of the history that George Lucas had originally authorized.

So far I only see the SJW rags knocking it. Is it possible they actually listened to fans and made a decent movie after the last disaster? Looking forward to reviews by regular people and not douchebag media reviewers.

Lets be honest. First The last Jedi was a cut and paste of the original trilogy.. boring. The Rise of Skywalker destroys the franchise. You have the greatest hope of mankind become a hermit and not actually fullfill his destiny. They were so concerned about having different ethnicities that you wonder how they didn't come across an alien ally. They destroyed the Jedi and Sith order and the plot is so bad.. If they read the books or played any video games you could see that it's entirely possible to create a decent sequel and I would say that the biggest mistake they made was having the new trilogy so close to Return of the Jedi, they should of based it like 200 - 2000 years later, that way they could create any story they wanted.

Alas I shall never know. The first three were cool, apart from those teddy bear creatures, after that George Lucas’s inability to direct anything but traffic become to hard to ignore. The whole series descended into a merchandising exercise.

I am guessing they fell into the trap of trying to please everyone so they ended up pleasing no one?

Wtf does Disney have to ruined Star Wars? They should get rid of sequels and it be wiser to capitalize on the Old Republic Lore. Is Disney oblivious to the $$$& with the Old Republic??? I hope Amazon doesn’t ruin JRR Tolkien’s masterpiece with the LOTR tv series.

I liked it.. But.... It could have been better. As a medium Starwars fan, there's a few scenes where I was either questioning the actions or judgement on lack of action in the most critical scenes.

I don't understand, when you've got all these fantastic side projects like the various animated series and The Mandalorian that are just so good and full of Star Wars goodness, why can't they figure this stuff out for the main line of films? Even Rogue One and Solo, while not perfect, were plenty of fun and had that Star Wars goodness in there. What is up with these movies? I just don't understand.

TLJ destroyed the trilogy and apparently had to kill it.

Star Wars is for kids, it was always for kids. If you don't like Star Wars now as much as when you were a kid, maybe someone grew up and found their big boy/girl pants.

The main thing that died is the talent of the writers before they made Episode 7. After that it got worse.

Well if there is one thing great about our culture now is when a series gets ran into the ground and set on fire ten twenty years down the road there will be a reboot that finishes the job correct. EI Ghostbusters 2016 versus the new one.
