House and Senate pass bill to curb robocalls

The Senate passed a bipartisan bill giving regulatory agencies more power and tools to stop illegal robocalls. The House passed the bill earlier this month. The bill incentivizes phone companies to screen calls from illegitimate sources, and expands the FCC’s tools to prosecute scammers. It has near-unanimous support from both houses of Congress and now goes to President Trump for his signature.

I have no idea

I like the idea but not the effect. Many businesses use robocalls for automatically informing personal and clients of outages and major changes. I don't want my phone company to cut them off because it looks suspicious. I do think we need to go after scammers and find a way to isolate them. I am not sure this is the way.
