Crowley dissertation finds plagiarism but not ’research misconduct’

In an investigation, Columbia University has found that Monica Crowley, the Treasury Department’s assistant secretary for public affairs, committed ’localized instances of plagiarism’ in her PhD dissertation. The university, however, concluded she did not commit research misconduct. The investigation started after plagiarism accusations were raised about her work following her appointment.

An investigation of CNN finds "research misconduct" but no plagiarism. A spokesperson for CNN reports, "We make OUR OWN stuff up. And what is 'research'? I haven't heard that word before."
