Prisoner pleads for help in Christmas card made in Chinese factory

A six year old girl reportedly found a desperate plea for help in a Christmas card, by a ’prisoner’ forced into slave labor in China. Following this, British supermarket giant Tesco suspended the Chinese supplier of the cards and condemned the use of prison labor. The Chinese government has denied the accusations.

Well, we can't be having any of that. How dare those prisoners ruin our Christmas cards?!

And we wonder why blue collar workers are bing driven in to poverty and are disregarded in society, well it's because China, a communist state that we rely on for cheap goods is abusing it's own and other citizens for financial gain allowing them to under cut us in our own country, thus abusing our citizens too. Whilst I like the Chinese people and the culture, I fucking HATE their governance. Communism every time something is totally Fucked, it's either that or the peaceful ones.

This happened a few years ago with Halloween supplies as well. China uses slaves for many things. Many nations still have slaves - Arab nations and African nations mostly. And China.

Honestly, I'd rather pay more for goods and services so that we can support US workers over Chinese slaves.

Rather than address the actual issue they choose not to rock the boat with China.

Has anyone looked into saving these workers or is it just "eh, we will use another company. " Will these slave workers be set free?

So as far as I’ve read... no human rights organizations were contacted and tesco will continue using the supplier when their audit doesn’t find evidence.

Good. China is what 21st century fascism looks like. The west must decouple itself from the chinese market, sooner rather than later.

While people are raging about this happening in China, I hope no one is forgetting that it happens on a much larger scale in the US. The US prison system is the biggest supplier of slave labour in the world. So how many companies are going to cut ties with US suppliers?
