French, Australian academics jailed in Iran go on hunger strike

Locked up in Tehran’s Evin Prison, French researcher Fariba Adelkhah and British-Australian academic Kylie Moore-Gilbert have gone on a hunger strike. They began their protest a day before Christmas eve ’in the name of academic freedom.’ Adelkhah and Gilbert were imprisoned on trumped up charges of espionage and have been detained for more than a year.
