Japan to send warship, aircraft to Middle East to protect vessels

Japan on Friday approved a contentious plan to send its naval troops to the Middle East to ensure the safety of Japanese ships transporting oil to the country. Tokyo is expected to send a destroyer with 260 crew alongside two P-3C anti-submarine patrol airplanes to the Gulf of Oman in February. There were several attacks on international vessels in the region, which the US blamed on Iran.

Good for Japan. They have every right to protect their maritime interests, oil tankers, in the Middle East. I'm glad that more countries are getting on board with Trump's call for them to carry their own weight and help protect their own oil.
