5.1 quake strikes 50km off Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant

A magnitude-5.1 earthquake has struck near Iran’s Bushehr nuclear plant on Friday early morning, according to the US Geological Survey. The relatively shallow quake with a depth of 38 km could potentially cause considerable damage. However, the Bushehr nuclear power plant was designed to withstand much stronger earthquakes. There were no immediate reports of casualties.
