French protests continue to pressure Macron on pension reform

French unions were joined by ’yellow vests’ as the month-long protests against pension reform continued. Thousands marched in Paris, Nantes and elsewhere. High-speed train service was curtailed as a result. In Paris, Police used tear gas against protesters close to tourists hot spots like the Center Pompidou, where some demonstrators had tried to erect barricades and set fire to them.
