As Covid ravages India, PM Modi presses ahead with $1.8B parliament renovation

While hospitals in India plead for life-saving oxygen and Covid-19 casualties remain on a rise, India’s PM Modi is pushing ahead with a $1.8B parliamentary revamp, including a new home for himself. The decision to continue with the project, categorized as an ’essential service,’ has infuriated the public and opposition politicians. India registered a record 4,187 casualties in the last 24 hours.

Looking at the Situation in India I feel like this is one of those rare Moments where the UN should step in and be proactive when it comes to keeping the world in one piece but alas, we're just going to sit back and watch anyways

Looking forward to hearing from Indians on this because as far as I was told by Indian friends living in India, they unanimously agree that Western media has been exaggerating the Covid issue happening in India.

We all knew India's development is hobbled by a an inept and corrupt state along with a high degree of social inequality. It just gets worse with every crisis. I knew it was bad, but the details are awful. There are good examples to follow in this globalized world. There are no more excuses, only accountability.
