Private land delays border wall plans in Texas

President Trump’s plan to build a ’big, beautiful’ wall seems to have hit a roadblock in Texas, as buying up private land along the U.S.-Mexico border is proving to be difficult. So far, the administration has built 93 miles, most of it on federal land to replace dilapidated barriers, according to Customs and Border Protection. The goal is to build 450 miles of new border wall before 2021.

I hate imminent domain use and would much prefer that people sell their property in order to facilitate this. I am fine with it being a slow process if that's the case. Using imminent domain to build the wall fast would infringe on the land rights of the people living there and I would not be ok with that.

Got to admit that the placement of the wall is problematic. It shouldn't require people to give up their homes to make it happen.
