Unvaccinated students can’t return to school in Seattle

The Seattle public school system has announced that students have until January 8th to get vaccinated or they cannot return to school. The ultimatum comes in the wake of a newly passed law that says families can’t state personal and philosophical reasons to avoid having their children vaccinated with the MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccine.

While I don't agree with antivaxers, we should be very worried about the slippery slope here.

This is a massive infringement on rights - what you can do with your body, who you can associate with, access to *public* facilities (which the anti-vaxxers contributed to). This will be challenged and overthrown, as it should be. The government has no valid reason or power to prohibit citizens' access to public property, such as public education, let alone any other properties, without an overriding, *imminent* public safety concern. A few unvaccinated kids do not rise to that level.
