Bank of England’s Carney warns business moving too slowly on climate change

The outgoing governor of the Bank of England, Mark Carney said that banks’ current policies will cause their assets to become worthless due to global warming. He called on them to stop investing in fossil fuels citing a study that forecast a global temperature rise of 3.7 degrees if current policies continue. Carney is leaving the Bank to become UN special envoy for climate change and finance.
