Nicaragua frees 90 people after crackdown on anti-government protests

More than 90 people were freed by the government of Nicaragua, as per an announcement on Monday. Rights groups have alleged that the people had been arrested since they were participating in anti-government activities. Nearly 12 people were jailed after they gave water to a group of mothers who were on a hunger strike.

Also, just realized there are still about 70 in jail, it seems.

So nice of them to release people they shouldn't have jailed in the first place -- and after only 3 days. It does seem fitting to jail someone over Christmas for giving water to mothers.
