Texas church shooting becomes rallying cry for both sides in gun control debate

The recent Texas church shooting which has led to the killing of three people including the gunman has furthered the debate on gun control laws in the US. While gun rights advocates have cited the shooting as evidence of giving arms to people as a means of defense, others have said that the shooting wouldn’t have happened had their been stricter gun laws in the first place.

How much do you have to spin this to come up with a headline like that?

Okay let’s explore this a moment let’s say we had stricter gun control laws and let’s also suppose that they would have successfully kept this man from getting a gun (probably would have but who knows) if the church goes had been totally unarmed what would have stopped him from running in their with a knife or a sword and stabbing dozens. I mean remember one crazed black guy with a blade wounded more people then this. The gun in the hands of that law abiding citizens saved lives because nothing else could have lowered the body count short of getting this man mental health help before he snapped and decided to the kill innocents.

Doesn't hurt he once also was a Sheriff deputy... All his training prepared him to properly respond.... U want this guy to be armed... N near u should an active shooter pop up... Personally very proud of him n his actions

The actions of this man to defend lives is text book model of what it means to be a responsible gun owner... Also shows the public who do carry just how u must train n remain level headed.. This guy just stepped up n kept the level cool head inspite of the danger.... N eliminated the immediate threat... A flat out national hero...
