Taiwan rejects China’s offer of ’one country, two systems’ model

Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen has rejected a ’one country, two systems’ political formula suggested by Beijing, citing the failure of such a model in Hong Kong. China’s suggestion of unifying the democratic island, is rooted in its claims that Taiwan is its territory, to be brought under Beijing’s control by force if necessary.
