FDA bans certain vaping products

The US FDA, on Thursday, issued a ban on the distribution of fruit and mint flavors in cartridge-based e-cigarettes, while allowing tobacco and menthol. This represents a significant retreat from President Trump’s September pledge to crack down on vaping. The narrower scope of the FDA rules is likely to please tobacco giant Altria, which owns e-cigarette maker Juul Labs.
