’Only Latino candidate’ Julian Castro drops out of US presidential race

Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro has dropped out of the Democratic presidential primary after failing to crack 1 percent in most polls. Castro was the only Latino candidate in the field and focused on issues like immigration, poverty. Castro made waves by promising on the debates to decriminalize illegal border crossings, leading many candidates to adopt that position.
