Venezuelan President Maduro seizes control of legislature

The government of Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro took over the country’s legislature Sunday. They blocked opposition from entering the National Assembly and Maduro’s supporters then elected Luis Parra to replace Juan Guaidó as head of the Assembly. Guaidó has claimed to be the legitimate leader of the country. Opposition officials called the move a ’parliamentary coup’ by Maduro.

Well given Socialism isn't a system of government just a tool to split people apart, set them against one another and make verdent soil for despots and dictators I fail to see why anyone was surprised when this started.

Venezuela was able to thwart the US backed coup. Many Central and South American nations have not been so lucky.

Guaido is even less legitimate than Maduro. Maduro was elected, Guaido didn't even run. OF COURSE when the US comes in a backs a random who nobody knows and attempts to topple you, your authoritarian tendencies will be on display. That's the plan. Read about US involvement in Latin America to understand Maduro's behavior. It isn't pretty but it's rational at this point.

Parliamentary coup?? LMFAO.... Is that like the military coup the US supported in Bolivia ?? Only with votes, instead of destroying houses and shooting people ?? Hey America, it is called democracy LOL,,, u spend the last 20yrs trying to bring it to The Middle East —- and apparently have no fucking idea what IT is Maduro is the fucking WORST dictator EVER— even a shitty dictator would have hung Guaido by now —- I would have , and I have ZERO dictator qualities hahahah

this is far more of a coup than the one the US did last year, all they did was recognize Guaido as leader.

This is bad for the country I think. Why does the army side with Mr Maduro, I know some officers deserted to try and help the people, can't they see what their country has become? This is typical of the socialist dream of eutopia in reality, the aristocracy always gets paid while the people suffer, and of course to answer my rhetorical question so does the army. Capitalism is more human nature friendly but of course can lead to the same situation albeit the countries economy would thrive not be non-exsitent. Democracy is the worst form of government however presently the best one we know.
