Australian crews race to contain wildfires as damage bill soars

The Insurance Council of Australia has estimated that the damage bill of the devastating wildfires have doubled in two days, with insurance claims soaring to $485 million. The estimate was made a day after the Australian PM said the government is committing an additional $1.4 billion toward the recovery effort. Fire crews are working to control the damages that have ravaged the country.
