Elizabeth Wurtzel, author of Prozac Nation, dies at 52

Elizabeth Wurtzel, the author of the best-selling 1994 memoir Prozac Nation which detailed her struggles with depression and addiction, has died aged 52. She died at a New York hospital with cancer. Prozac Nation was published in 1994 when Wurtzel was in her mid-20s and set off a debate that lasted for much of her life. Some praised Wurtzel for her candor while others said she was self-absorbed.
