Elizabeth Warren, a Democratic presidential candidate has proposed to amend the personal bankruptcy laws of the United States. The revisions would make it easier for struggling families to get rid of their debts. Ms. Warren, a former law professor at Harvard, specialized in bankruptcy law and opposed provisions advocated by Vice President Joe Biden when he was the senator from Delaware.

You can't reform student loan debt bankruptcy without capping public and private university spending. But she won't touch it because millions of public-sector vampires would scream. But yes, easing the bankruptcy process is a bizarre strength of our economy. Warren is at least mouthing the right things even if she doesn't really believe it.
