Massachusetts debates law to allow minors get abortions without parental consent

The Massachusetts legislature is considering removing the requirement that minors get approval from a parent or judge to have an abortion. It is one of 25 states with this restriction. Advocates point to cases of rape or parental abuse as reasons to allow this while opponents say an adult should be involved in decision. The Governor does not favor changing the law.

So Democrat law makers care move about children getting secret abortions then stopping these pregnancies from happening in the first place.....and people wonder why I call Democrats paedophiles, they care move about coving up their dirty little secrets then fixing the problems...which funny enough is cause by pedo Democrats...

This could enable child abusers... Do the parents at least have to know?

Pretty sure this will be challenged if the state does it. It's an infringement on parental rights, and all other medical care requires parental consent.

Not a fan of this. Then again, there was a movement out to allow minors the right to vote. Either they are adults or they aren't. Adulthood comes with certain privileges. Abortions are way to big of a decision for minors to make.

So if a girl can get an abortion without parent's permission, are the parents still considered the legal custodians?

The argument that this is needed in cases of rape or parental abuse is stupid. The current restrictions require a parent OR a judge. I mean we won’t let them smoke or drink until they’re 21, but potentially cause irreversible damage to their parts?

What is the rationale here? Is not parental/guardian consent required for all minors prior to receiving medical treatment?
