Ayatollah says missile strike a ’slap on the face’ for US

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has called Tehran’s missile attacks on US targets in Iraq ’a slap on the face’ for the US. Iran said it launched more than dozen missiles against US targets on Wednesday. ’What is important is that America’s corrupt presence must come to an end in this region’, Khamenei added.

With no casualties Trump can still withdraw and declare victory. Iran can declare victory for chasing the US out. Iraq can declare victory, having been rid of some terrorist leaders and sovereign by requesting the US withdraw. Maybe this won't happen and the US will stubbornly stay. However, this has all the markings of a 'Trump deal'. Everyone gets to say they got what they wanted. To be honest, if there is any conspiracy to concoct here it would be that Trump told Iran to hit this base after making sure its defenses were stripped /and/ that no one was going to be hurt.

So the US - for all its military might - is unable to intercept these missiles? That too on one of its most important bases.............. I'm no expert but one report says - Ballistic missiles can be deadly but they are in no way discrete on radar.............. Either the US is actually far less competent than it's been claiming to or there seems some kind of back-end agreement between the two nations in the last couple days - conduct this strike, no casualties, both nation leaders seem heroes to their public (Again this may sound weird - but there's a lot that goes on behind the curtains in these matters I feel)
