US officials say plane that crashed near Tehran was ’shot down’ by Iran

Officials in the United States have expressed confidence that the plane that crashed near Tehran and led to the loss of 176 lives was ’shot down’ by Iran. US satellites reportedly detected two missiles being launched prior to the plane crashing, and also detected an explosion soon after.

Both black boxes were damaged and had bits of their memory missing... I do not have enough knowledge to know if that has occurred in other aircraft explosions, or not. But I would expect that the memory gaps would be different, and that it should be possibly to get a full picture by splicing the information from one to cover the gaps in the other.
