US House to limit Trump’s ability to engage with Iran militarily

The House of Representatives of the United States is expected to pass a resolution that will limit the ability of President Donald Trump to engage Iran with militarily. House lawmakers are reportedly worried that the act of the killing of an Iranian General by the US could lead the two countries to war with each other.

Because the best way to prevent a fight is to show the guy who really wants to hit you that you can't fight back. I don't want to go to war, I'm a "nobody wins if there was a war" guy, but putting your gun on the floor while letting the other dude keep theirs just makes you a hostage.

Damn Fools!!! Iran IS our enemy and has been for decades. Are the Demarats American, or allied with Iran? They need to make the choice.

the war powers act is a double edged sword and there are two sides as to constitutionality where it applies. Currently The War Powers Resolution requires the president to notify Congress within 48 hours of committing armed forces to military action. Because the Constitution Article 1 Section 8 limits the President's authority in the use of force without a declaration of war by Congress, there is controversy as to whether the provisions of the resolution are consistent with the Constitution. Presidents have therefore drafted reports to Congress required of the President to state that they are "consistent with" the War Powers Resolution rather than "pursuant to" so as to take into account the presidential position that the resolution is unconstitutional. like I said at the beginning though there are valid arguments on both sides of the resolution. I think at times we require a quick response and as commander in chief - you would have the right to take quick and decisive action if required.

Don't think many realize just how on brink he brought us to a war because he fails to comprehend the rules of engagement n is handicapped by his arrogance... N lust to be powerful like a putin or kim... He thinks this is a reality show. It is not.. It's life death n ultimate sacrifices made by men n women who absolutely love this country... Something not trump nor his kids comprehend.. They have sacrificed zero for anyone beyond their own business interests... When u pocket someone's purple heart n joke about it nothing done should being shocking... He thinks it's all for him.. N him alone .

That's correct the power to declare war rest with congress.. If he wants one he must come n make an authentic truthful case.. Congress isn't denying Iran is our enemy.. They r simply exercising their power to stop unnecessary blood to be shed upon whimsical irrational reckless choices made by the executive branch.. That have no foundation to put our troops in harms way.... If u don't like this then u clearly don't like the constitution or u are personally ready to enlist n request front line duty to prove how much u trust ur dear leader.... Since u so want war n to nuke everything moving
