’Mystery boxes’ in China discovered with suffocating pups and kittens inside

E-commerce sites in China are being accused of animal cruelty for shipping ’mystery boxes’ to customers containing live puppies and kittens. Chengdu Love Home Animal Rescue Center shared on Weibo that it found 160 crates containing cats and dogs in the back of a delivery truck earlier this week. The animals were seen lacking any food or water. Shipping live animals in this way is illegal in China.

The world should be furious at China. If Covid came from "a wet market" and not a lab, then China has done absolutely nothing to prevent it from happening again.

Once again, china has proven not care about the lives and wellbeing of anyone or anything, but themselves. Last summer I fell down a terrible rabbit hole of videos of chinese people abusing animals for sheer amusement and I still havent recovered.😭😭😭😭 Punishment is more than necessary, make this stop !🤬🤬🤬

China just keeps finding more ways to be awful. How any can defend this country is a mystery to me.

I don't see how this could have been avoided. The law is already there illegalizing this. The massive population though makes regulation of stuff like this near-impossible. Only way is to rely on people receiving packages to report it and police to then do the search for the van and the source, but that's only after the damage is already done. Sad.

Idk if it's capitalism within the auspices of the CCP or the legacy of the cultural revolution, but it's always China.

This country should be ashamed of how it treats these animals. Whether dogs and cats or endangered species in wet markets it is sickening.

Never mind their treatment of the Uyghurs, it's the puppies and kittens that outraged the world.
