Northern Ireland government returns after three-year suspension

Northern Ireland’s main political parties met in Belfast on Saturday to form a power-sharing government. Arlene Foster, leader of the Democratic Unionist Party, was sworn in as First Minister at a special sitting. Michelle O’Neill, leader of the second largest party in the Assembly, was sworn in as Deputy First Minister. The arrangement helps end a three-year standoff.
