Russia scores victory for ally Syria in UN vote cutting aid

Russia scored a victory for its ally Syria on Friday, using its veto threat to force the UN Security Council to adopt a resolution reducing the number of crossing points for aid deliveries. Following the resolution, US Ambassador Kelly Craft accused Russia of ’triumphantly’ supporting Syrian President Bashar Assad’s government ’to starve its opposition’.

This is smart. This is to make sure that aid only go through Turkey (who is now following orders from Russia) if anyone else crossed a crossing point from a different area, they would have to assume that it was an enemy to Syria.
