Retired Pope warns against celibacy change

Retired Pope Benedict has warned his successor Pope Francis to not relax the rules on priestly celibacy. In a co-authored book with a conservative cardinal, Benedict has said celibacy allows a priest to concentrate on his vocation. Benedict adds that it ’doesn’t seem possible to realise both vocations (priesthood and marriage) simultaneously’.

The Catholic Church does in fact have married priests. Just not within the Roman rite.

Pretty clearly, celibate priests have considerable difficulty concentrating on their job. How many less victims would there be if they "got off" once in a while with a woman - as per the creator's design?

The last pope did zero other than to hide rogue priests.. At least this pope is trying to address the centuries old problems by looking for solutions

a few south american catholics might disagree with the claim he's helping and not hiding priests. church still no where as bad as the "gay community", hollywood and state education departments, they are still hiding offending members. such as spacey.
