Melbourne, Canberra choked by hazardous smoke

Resident in cities including Melbourne and Canberra in Australia began Tuesday by breathing in the worst air in the world due to smoke blowing in from bushfires. Melbourne recorded hazardous levels of fine particles in the air earlier in the day and had since been categorized as very poor by the EPA. Authorities said everyone is at risk, particularly children aged under 14, people over 65 years.
