An American citizen dies in an Egyptian prison amid hunger strike

A US citizen who was arrested in Egypt amid political chaos there in 2013 has died in an Egyptian prison. Moustafa Kassem, 54, died of heart failure following a hunger strike to protest his conviction. He was arrested during a sit-in. His lawyers said he was at a shopping center near the sit-in trying to change money when he was detained. He was later convicted and sentenced for 15 years in prison
