California crews dismantle 3-story ’treehouse’ homeless shelter

Authorities in California removed a large, three-story treehouse that was built illegally in northwestern Los Angeles on Wednesday as the local government works to clear a homeless encampment said to be inhabited by 100 people. The cleanup is part of a four-phase public safety effort that began in August amid numerous brush fires, and most recently a flood rescue in the area.
