General elections to be held in Ireland next month

The office of the President of Ireland announced that the Irish PM, Leo Varadkar will approach Michael D. Higgins, the President of Ireland and ask him to dissolve the Parliament. Following this, fresh elections will be conducted in the country in the month of February.

Sadly we'll still have a Fine Gael minority government propped up by Fianna Fáil despite the disaster of the current Taoiseachs term, not that the táiniste is much better. Óglaigh na hÉirrann decimated, the housing and homeless crisis, the cervical check scandal, forcing direct provision centres against communities will, the further decay of our native tongue and the unending corruption in this country. This is not the republic Wolfe Tone and Pádraig Pearse gave their lives for, thank God they did not live to see us destroy ourselves.
