I live in New York City and can tell you it's still poor as hell. the taxes are insane and the growth was probably an average after tax returns. I work about 20 hours per week in Brooklyn and make 800 dollars per my biweekly checks, but only get 500 from taxes. de Blasio's system let's the rich and foreign autocrats to launder money through real estate. this doesn't apply here in reality, only on an average because of how much the rich are benefitting.
