UK government opens trial for wireless charging taxis

The UK government is investing £3.4 million ($4.43 million) into the wireless charging technology as part of a six-month trial and will see 10 electric taxis fitted with the necessary hardware, pushing for sustainable transport options. The technology will allow multiple taxis to charge at the same time, unlike plugs or chargepoints for which drivers sometimes have to queue.

Electric public transport is a good idea. Should reduce noise and smog. But the power is probably still coming from coal, gas and oil power stations. Need more nuclear till "sustainable" sources like wind and solar catch up.
