US appeals court dismisses youth climate lawsuit

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has thrown out a lawsuit filed by children and young adults who claimed they had a constitutional right to be protected from climate change. The court has ruled in a 2-1 decision that the plaintiffs, ages of 8 and 19, lacked legal standing to sue the United States.

Aww if they had been able to set a precedent for suing for things that are abstract, happened before the plaintiff’s birth, and frivolous...I would sue for the erosion of liberty that’s been going on for a century

Perhaps Greta can pick these entitled children up in her borrowed eco-yacht and cruise on over to China to voice their opnion to Xi Jinping. I hear Apple has some nice sweat shops in China that can benefit from a child's small hands.

Now watch their Lefties parents sue on their behalf as they are the ones that got the kids up to do this in the first place

Meanwhile in the Netherlands, a climate group successfully sued the government for the same thing. Basicly, because the government is responsible for protecting its citizens, also in the long run, it is obligated to protect them from climate change. That case was stronger because the Dutch government has signed the Paris Agreement an as such comitted itself already.

You adults should listen, this is a "warning" of what is soon to come. Ever read: the children shall lead them? Innocence over greed?

Purely out of curiosity - how many people here support the idea of adhering to climate concerns, and how many people feel theres no reason to? I'm legitimately curious to see which side most people would get behind!

Lacked legal standing because of their age? What kind of cop out bullshit is that?? I mean the US does more than a lot of other countries it’s mostly China right now that’s the problem. But dismissing it because of age is just going showing kids they don’t matter. They could have dismissed it for many other reasons but age? Come on you lazy fucks!
